In 2013, RYTHM Foundation pledged a donation to support efforts to preserve the religious and cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Bhutan. This donation went on to finance the restoration of the main monastery of the 500-year-old Datong Tulku Rinpoche.
The monastery, located in Punakha Valley, Bhutan, is a large four-storey building, originally built by the first Datong Tulku named Terton Chenpo Yongzin Ngawang Drakpa in 1507. Since the construction of this monastery, no major restoration had been carried out until RYTHM Foundation’s involvement in the project.
The current Datong Tulku Rinpoche has been very appreciative of the significant contribution by RYTHM Foundation, sharing beautiful images of the restored building.
