Singapore, 22 September 2012 – Spending a Saturday morning having fun bowling doesn’t sound so out of the ordinary. However, last Saturday’s outing was extra special as through the RYTHM Foundation, employees from the QI Singapore office had the chance to enrich the lives of 40 underprivileged children from Beyond Social Services.
Beyond Social Services (BSS) is a voluntary welfare organisation in Singapore that aims to impact lives of disadvantaged youths and children, by providing them access to social, educational and community support programmes.
A helping hand.
Through initiatives such as this, we at the RYTHM Foundation continue to work towards paving the way for a better and safer world for children, who are the very symbol of the future.
The day turned out to be especially meaningful as QI Group teamed up in a CSR activity which saw 35 staff bowling with youths from the ages of seven to 14. Nine-year-old Shahilah was one of them. It was her first time and she couldn’t contain her excitement as she put on her bowling shoes.

After a short opening speech by Daryl Bisset, Chief Operating Officer of Q Lifestyle, the match began. The players cheered each other on as they competed with each other in winning spirit. No doubt some of the players really took the game seriously!
Hazana, for instance, came equipped with powder for her hands, so as to have a better grip on the ball. The ten-year-old is part of the bowling team at her school and was definitely no novice to the game.

After slightly more than two hours, the competition came to an end. After a sumptuous lunch, prizes were awarded to the best team by Bruce Keats, Q Lifestyle’s General Manager of Hospitality and Julia Tai, Head of Human Resources.
This endeavour falls under our Foundation’s pillar of community development which emphasises caring for the less fortunate while spreading good will and hope.
